Acrylic paint on canvas
Currently on display at Old Town Hall Gallery.
I painted this looking outside my window.
This artwork is the second of a series. The first painting was of the same view, during a snowfall--titled 'Winter Fences'. Painting the same scene in a series allows the viewer to compare details of the landscape across the seasons and experience the power of an artwork in selecting what to bring in focus.
I am also interested in contrasting the divisions brought up by fences followed by fences in suburbia, with the raw rise of nature exhibited by the tree trunk.
Finally, this painting is a celebration of the coming of spring.
The artwork is framed and ready to hang.
