Built on Air
Acrylic paint on canvas
Sometimes I feel anxiety when I think about my role in unsustainable aspects of our society. It feels like when the winds come the buildings will fall over and we will struggle to rebuild our fragile society. The potted plant on the table is a symbol of knowledge exchange. Instead of knowledge of how to live in balance with nature, we have selected knowledge of comfort and dependence on robots. As stated in the previous painting 'Potted;' we have become like potted plants, easy to pick up and move, however fragile without our cellphones and credit cards.
The close up window on the left side represents my watching in the dark as the ocean sweeps.
